Time to BREATHE new life into the game!
With the year coming to a close, Hearthstone fans already anticipated some type of announcement during BlizzCon 2019. Sure enough, Descent of Dragons was announced. Its only fitting to end the year of the dragon with a dragon-themed expansion.
Kicking things off is the reveal of the newest hero card, who’s described as the progenitor of all dragonkind, Galakrond. He has been given five variants, one for each class aligned with the League of E.V.I.L. (Warrior, Shaman, Rogue, Warlock, and Priest). These variants also have their own unique battlecry and hero power.
Unlike other hero cards, Galakrond can be upgraded up to two times to become even more powerful. This can be achieved by playing the cards with the new keyword: Invoke. Invoke will affect Galakrond regardless of where he is. So, you can play these cards even when he is still in the deck which makes it easier to achieve his final form.
Given the power of Galakrond, what about the good guys? Well, the classes related to the Saviors of Uldum will receive special variants of existing legendary dragons. The first to be revealed is the Druid Legendary, Ysera.
Rounding things out are the powerful “Breath” Spells. While only the shaman spell was revealed, it may be safe to assume that all classes will have at least one of these, given the theme.
And that’s it! For more details, be sure to watch out for other announcements in the upcoming days before the eventual release. Hearthstone: Descent of Dragons launches on December 10, 2019. Don’t forget to log in on the set’s release to receive Galakrond for free!
