The Minecraft universe just got a whole lot bigger

Minecraft fans rejoice! At E3 this year, Mojang just announced their newest title since their original block-based sandbox-survival game — Minecraft Dungeons. Inspired by other dungeon crawler games, Minecraft Dungeons is a hack and slash RPG set in the universe of Minecraft.

In this game, players get to explore numerous dungeons, each with their own unique puzzles, loot, and monsters. The combat system features a hack and slash style, with weapons and armor from the original Minecraft game, alongside some new ones. With any dungeon game, monsters await the player, from the classic skeleton and creeper, to never before seen fiends. At the end of everything, the evil Arch-Illager awaits the player.

Finally, If a dungeon seems too daunting for you to handle, call up some friends! Minecraft Dungeons allows for 4-player coop play through LAN or online. Overall, fans are in for a whole new experience in the Minecraft universe we all know and love.

Minecraft Dungeons will be released on spring 2020 for the PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and the Xbox one. For more information about the game, check out Mojang’s website here. For the latest updates on E3 announcements, check out our continuing coverage of the event here.
