The Elder Scrolls: Blades heads to the Nintendo Switch, receives massive update

The future looks bright for The Elder Scrolls: Blades!

Bethesda’s first ever Elder Scrolls mobile game, The Elder Scrolls: Blades (TES: Blades), is heading to another platform — the Nintendo Switch. Along with that announcement are details of the huge new update the game is receiving.

You can check out our in-depth look at the Mobile Early Access of TES: Blades here.

One amazing feature of this Switch port is that it will be cross-play and cross-progression. Meaning, progress carries over from the versions allowing players to pick up and play on either of the two platforms. So, no need for restarts. The Switch version is slated for a Fall 2019 release and will still be a free download title.

Now then, let’s move on to that massive update we kept talking about. Update 1.1 for TES: Blades is a major one as it adds a ton of new stuff;

  • All-new NPC voice-overs
  • A New Dragon Questline
  • New Jewelry (Rings and Necklaces)
  • New Jobs
  • Increased level cap to 100 (Attributes and skill points are no longer awarded past level 50 though)
  • Solo Arena Battles
  • Adjustments to Chest system (Elder and Legendary chests are no longer lost and can be received even at full chest capacity)

For the full rundown of the patch notes, you can head on over here. This update is now live and players can hop on and challenge the new questline or buy and craft those jewelry. Bethesda is also giving away free stuff as a celebration for E3 2019. Android players will receive the Cascadia sapphire ring, Sweet Roll Banner, and 200 gems. iOS players, on the other hand, will receive the Crimson Kiss ruby ring, Apple Pie Banner, and 200 gems.
