With the triple header weekend summit underway, what are the things you can do while visiting?

Electronic Sports and Gaming Summit (ESGS) 2019 is well underway at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, Philippines from October 25 to 27. As one of the biggest gaming events this year in the Philippines, there are tons to do and explore. If you’re a bit confused at what to do first or where to go, then here are some suggestions. Check out the Things you can do at ESGS 2019.

Join in Exhibitor Tournaments and Activities

It won’t be ESGS without games, of course. Thankfully, big brands like Asus’s Republic of Gamers, Acer’s Predator, MSI, Hyper X, Lenovo’s Legion, Cignal and more have just the treat for us gamers. These exhibitors are demoing their products to visitors by hosting Tournaments and allowing you to play on their Laptops, Desktops, Monitors and more! The tournaments include DOTA 2, PUBG, LoL, and Tekken 7. More than that, they’re also offering non-competitive playing time with their products so you can enjoy gaming just for fun. All of these Exhibitors have their very own lounges where you can just sit back, or stand up, and relax while playing well known titles such as NBA 2k, Tekken, and much more. Experience the games you like on the latest big rigs these brands can offer.

Buy Loot and Goodies

There are a lot of geeky stuff that gamers love — from clothing to stickers to pins and even action figures and collectibles. You won’t find any shortages of these items here at ESGS 2019. There are a plethora of merchants that offer these wares, some even have bundles and take commissioned works. For a more comprehensive guide on the things you can buy at the event, check out our article here.

Enter the PLDT, Smart Cyber City

The Cyber City offers a wide variety of activities. You can play games, enter tournaments, and join various activities to earn points. These points can be redeemed to get items at the Cyber City’s rewards shop. You can also take pictures with Cosplayers dressed up as some of your favorite Mobile Legends characters. Then, you can chill at the Cyber Lounge to play games like NBA 2K20.

Check out the Mountain Dew Fighting Game Arena

Mountain Dew is also hosting a fighting game arena, having an assortment of fighting games such as Tekken 7, Street Fighter V, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. You can sign up to join the community casual games, learn a thing of two from pros, or just have plain fun. A tournament is also being held here for the fighting games present, you can watch players go head to head to prove who’s the best, or you can join and prove you’re the best.

Try out Games from various developers

The Big Guns

Another major exhibitor that has joined ESGS for the first time is Nintendo. Offering about 12 minutes of playtime on their popular Nintendo Switch games. These include Legend of Zelda, both Breath of the Wild and Link’s Awakening. Mario Titles are also prominent, featuring Super Mario Bros U, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Tennis Aces, and Mario Kart 8 Plus. Other games include Pokemon Let’s Go, and Harvest Moon.

Capcom is also providing a free demo of their latest expansion of their best selling game: Monster Hunter world: Iceborne. After you play you get a free Iceborne Poster and Totebag. You can also visit the MU Origins booth, where you can earn several freebies, as well as a chance to buy a body pillow version of the game characters.

Indies & Locals

We can show our support for Filipino game devs as they provide free playthroughs of the games they are developing. There are a wide variety of indie games that can be played in ESGS’s “Indie Fiesta”. Apart from that we have Ranida games and Keybol games, both well-known Filipino game companies that are showcasing their latest masterpieces. These games display the growing scene of Filipino Game Development. So, make sure to play them as they are guaranteed to catch your interest.

Try out Tabletop Games

Ludos, Game Detective, and other Tabletop Organizations are also present, providing an area where you can try out different tabletop games. Here’s your chance to learn the other end of the spectrum of gaming. This classic way of playing is the roots of Video Games nonetheless. You can play TCGs, learn and play Dungeons and Dragons, or just play any collection of tabletop games in store. We can also support some of the Filipino Devs as the provide demos of tabletop games they have put their heart and soul too.

Fill your Stomach

Moving aroung this big hall for almost the entire day can be exhausting, gamers also need to refill their stamina. Just like in games, we can refill it by eating food. ESGS has food stalls around so that you can get your fare share of refreshment and munch. Potato Corner, Bacsilog, Tender Juicy, Milk Teas, and many more are your selections of gamer foods.

Watch live tournaments, events, and presentations

ESGS is of coure part Esports, and the main stage is full of them. Having tournaments of games like DOTA 2 and Rainbow Six Siege, you can support your fellow gamers by watching their competitions. It’s not just in the main stage, PLDT, Mountain Dew, ROG, MSI, Predator, HyperX, AOC, and more are hosting their own tournaments. There are also several programs stretched out throughout the day, not just competitions and tournaments. So, if you wish to know what’s happening in the local gaming scene, be sure to drop by the main stage every now and then.

There are also several cosplayers there showing up as our favorite gaming icons, so don’t be shy to say “Hi” and take a picture or two to show your appreciation to these hardworking people.

That’s about it!

With all these activites, we finally come to the last and most important thing to do in ESGS: Just have plain fun. Meet new people if you want, and enjoy one of the Philippine’s biggest gaming convention. As it only happens once a year.
