by ROG is not about to leave the Strix family hanging at CES 2022!
CES 2022 is well underway and we already saw ROG’s next innovation in the Flow Z13. Yet, the company is not leaving their older products behind. As such, the Strix family is getting a timely update for 2022. These include the likes of the Strix G15, G17 and Scar 15 and 17.
First up are the Scar 15 and 17, the Strix flagships. Both will sport the same specifications except for their display sizes. These new updates include up to the 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900H processor, up to an Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti GPU, up to 64GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of SSD storage. As for the display, both variants get either QHD or Full HD panel. For the Scar 15 that’ll be a 15.6-inch display while for the 17 that”ll be 17.3-inches.
The 15 though is limited to just 300Hz on its Full HD display option while the 17 has the option for a 360Hz one. For their QHD variants both get 240Hz refresh rates and 3ms response times.
Next up are the Strix G15 and G17. Like with the Scar pair these two only differ in display sizes. Under the hood of these machines are up to an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor, up to an NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti GPU, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of SSD storage. As for displays, the G15 comes with either a 15.6-inch FHD 300Hz, 3ms panel or a QHD 165Hz, 3ms one. The G17, on the other hand, comes with either a 17.3-inch 360Hz, 3ms FHD display or a QHD 240Hz, 3ms one. Lastly, both models have 3 color options. Namely, Eclipse Gray, Volt Green and Electro Punk.
