Tales of Arise heads to PS4, Xbox One, PC in 2020

The “Tales of” series is getting another member in the form of Tales of Arise!

Bandai Namco’s long-running “Tales of” series grows yet again with the announcement of Tales of Arise. The game is set for a 2020 release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, check out the trailer below.

The “Tales of” series is on a roll following the successful run of their past two titles — Berseria and Zestiria (this one even received its own Anime adaptation). Not only that but the revival of Vesperia gave the franchise new life. We’ll do a quick refresher for those of you who aren’t too familiar with this fantasy RPG series. It all began with Tales of Phantasia, released back in 1995 for the Super Famicom. Although, the western market’s first tango with the series was with Tales of Destiny for the PlayStation, released two years after Phantasia.

Most of the titles have their own separate story and are not exactly a sequel or prequel of any of the past releases. Except for Tales of Destiny and Xillia, which both received sequels. After the release of Destiny, the series would continue on to span across multiple generations of platforms. Essentially becoming one of Bandai Namco’s staple franchises. If there’s any indication we expect that Tales of Arise will follow the same formula of its modern predecessors, Berseria and Zestiria, while still maintaining what makes the “Tales of” series brilliant.
