A whole new world of gaming was introduced by AMD at E3 2019 with the announcement of the RX 5700 series GPUs and 3rd Gen Ryzen CPUs!
Teased back at Computex 2019, AMD finally showcased their latest Navi GPU lineup dubbed the RX 5700 series at their “Next Horizon Gaming” E3 event. That’s not all that they revealed though as we also got a glimpse of the Ryzen 9 3950X processor.
We were introduced to two members of the Radeon RX 5700 family — the RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT (with a 50th Anniversary edition). Both of these cards are built on the 7nm Radeon DNA (RDNA) Gaming architecture. RDNA promises to offer 1.25x higher performance per-clock and up to 1.5x higher performance-per-watt compared to the previous Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture.
Apart from the added oomph in performance we’re also getting support for PCIe 4.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, Radeon Image Sharpening (RIS), FidelityFX (for developers), and Radeon Anti-Lag. Check out their specs and pricing below. These cards will be available next month, July 7th. Although, the 50th anniversary RX 5700 XT will only be available in limited quantities.
Model | Compute Units | Stream Processors | TFlops | GDDR6 (GB) | Base Clock (MHz) | Game Clock (MHz) | Boost Clock (MHz) | Price |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Radeonâ„¢ RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition | 40 | 2,560 | Up to 10.14 | 8 | 1,680 | 1,830 | Up to 1,980 | $499 (~Php 25,915) |

Next up, that shiny new 3rd Gen Ryzen 9 3950X processor. This beast of a chip will be the one headlining the 3rd Gen Ryzen setup, featuring 16 cores, 32 threads and a boost clock of 4.7 GHz. Although, you can push it even further with overclocking. The chip’s expected TDP is around 105W with an L2 + L3 Cache of 72MB. The Ryzen 9 3950X is priced at $749 (~Php 38,899) and is expected to arrive at stores come September 2019.
Lastly, to commemorate the release of the Xbox PC Game Pass, AMD will be handing out three-months access with the purchase of select AMD products. They’ll reveal more details come July 1st.
