Age of Empires is kicking off its 25th Anniversary this month with events and rewards across multiple titles. These include the recently launched Age of Empires IV, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, and Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. All these events will start come October 25th.

Age of Empires IV

First off let’s check out the events and unlockables you can get for the latest installment in the series, Age of Empires IV. Here are the exclusive anniversary rewards you can get from October 25 to November 8:

  • Login Rewards — Three Profile Icons namely a capybara presenting you with a birthday cake, Chibi Wololo Priest, and a coin that commemorates the 25th Age-aversary!
  • Gather 1997 fish in Skirmish or Multiplayer — a cartoony overly muscular boar sigil.
  • Win a Multiplayer or Skirmish match by having only 50 population — a Photon Man sigil.
  • Load 16 Elephants into a Transport Ship — a sigil of a ship with a bunch of elephants.
  • Destroy 5 Buildings with a French Warship — a portrait of Elizabet Ramsey.
  • Win a Multiplayer or Skirmish match without repairing any structures — a profile portrait of a villager smiling with fire in the background.
  • Win a Skirmish or Multiplayer match as the Ottomans — a Craig Mullins Ottoman artwork profile portrait.

As we bid farewell to Ranked Season 2, we then welcome Ranked Season Three. It starts on October 26 and ends on February 15, 2023. This time around players will also get Ranked Team rewards (seen above). There will also be taunt rewards once you reach Bronze or higher in either Solo or Team Ranked:

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition

Old but gold versions of Age of Empires aren’t left behind as AoE II: Definitive Edition will also have some anniversary fun. Starting October 25th up until November 8th players can grab the following. These challenges must be done in order and in different days, so treat them like dailies.

  • Signing into Xbox Live — Age of Empires franchise birthday cake profile icon.
  • Kill 10 Units with Scout Cavalry (Day 1) — a graphical mod where the starting scout is replaced with the original Age of Empires Scout.
  • Build 3 Town Centers in a single Skirmish or Multiplayer Match (Day 2) — a graphical mod where your Town Centers are decorated with the famous Age of Empires IV Town Bell.
  • Kill 3 Castles with Bombard Cannons (Day 3) — a graphical mod where Bombard Cannons are replaced by Golden Bombard Cannons.
  • Train 300 Hussars or Winged Hussars (Day 4) — the in-game Winged Hussar Unit profile icon.
  • Research Chemistry 3 Times (Day 5) — a graphical mod where Hand Cannoneers are replaced with Age of Empires III Musketeers.

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition

If Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition gets some loving then so too shall Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. This one has a much longer celebration as you can grab the following starting October 25th until November 20th. These challenges are also done in succession and in separate days. Much like with AoE II: Definitive Edition anniversary challenges.

  • Signing into Xbox Live — 25th Anniversary Profile Icon.
  • Destroy 20 Buildings with Elite Rams or Siege Elephants in a Skirmish or Multiplayer match (Day 1) — Wololo Priests Mod.
  • Win a Skirmish or Multiplayer match as any Native American civilization (Day 2) — a BIrthday Capybara Profile Icon.
  • Win an Empire Wars match in Skirmish or Multiplayer match (Day 3) — I don’t exist AoE II cheat.
  • Kill 10 enemy units with Villagers in a Skirmish or Multiplayer match (Day 4) — Ivan the Terrible (AoE IV) Profile Icon.
  • Train 50 Cavalry in a single Skirmish or Multiplayer Game (Day 5) — General Warwick Hero Skin.
  • Research 5 Naval Technologies in a Multiplayer match (Day 6) — Flying Dutchman cheat, which allows Naval units to move on land.
  • Train 20 Mercenaries in a Skirmish or Multiplayer match (Day 7) — Cuman Party! (AoE II) Profile Icon.
  • Win a Tycoon match in a Skirmish or Multiplayer Match (Day 8) — Tonight we Hunt mode where all maps start in night mode.
  • Raze 20 enemy buildings with Artillery units in a Skirmish or Multiplayer Match (Day 9) — Genghis Khan (AoE IV) Profile Icon.
  • Build 40 Farms, Fields, Mills, or Rice Paddies in any amount of Skirmish or Multiplayer matches (Day 10) — Kichiro Hero Skin.
