Now on to the subject of the Endwalker delay. The expansion was set to launch on November 23rd of this year but is now pushed back to December 7th. On the other hand, early access now starts on December 3rd. Then patch 6.01 and 6.05 will release December 21st and January 4th, 2022, respectively. Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida took the responsibility for the delay. Stating his own selfishness as the factor for the pushback.

According to Yoshida, as the expansion neared the end of development he felt that a lot more can be done. Since Endwalker is to be the largest expansion to date, they’ll work on adjusting even the smallest nuances. This is to ensure that the conclusion to the first major saga is nothing short of perfect.

While it was still possible for the development team to reach the deadline, there will be risks to the game’s stability. Despite the two-week delay though, Yoshida is confident that Endwalker will perform well beyond expectations. For those looking to try the game out or grab Endwalker head-on over here.
