In a huge surprise to fans, Xbox just released the first gameplay trailer for Halo Infinite in over a year. Finally, we got to see more details about the game’s story and gameplay. Unlike previous games, the Halo Infinite Campaign does not feature Master Chief working alongside Cortana. Instead, players start the game off by joining forces with a new AI, codenamed “The Weapon”. Moreover, the Banished have taken over the mysterious Zeta Halo and are hunting down Master Chief and his allies. Whether or not players can reunite with Cortana remains unknown at this point.
On the other hand, Halo Infinite looks to be the most open-world game in the franchise to date. Players will have the liberty of flying planes and riding vehicles around multiple stages. In some cases, you can even take control of an enemy spacecraft. The game will also have a fast travel option, which will allow players to quickly travel in between worlds and stages. Finally, Xbox also confirmed that old opponents will be returning to the game, as well as some new faces. Among the latter are the agile Skimmers and a Spartan hunter called Jega ‘Rdomnai.
Has the new trailer gotten you hyped up for the Halo Infinite Campaign? Xbox will release the game on December 8, 2021, for the Series X/S and PC.
