ROG isn’t just going to let their Zephyrus line take all the spotlight as they also give a much needed boost to their Strix Scar family. The new Strix Scar 15 & 17 receive a much needed upgrade to Intel’s 10th Gen mobile CPUs and Nvidia’s RTX mobile SUPER GPUs.
The only difference between the Scar 17 and 15 are display size and GPU offerings. Both will be powered by either the Intel Core i9-10980HK or Intel Core i7-10875H, up to 32GB or RAM, and 1TB/512GB SSD in Raid 0 with up to 3 M.2 slots. For our display offerings, the Scar 15 can have either a 300Hz or 240Hz 15.6″ FHD IPS display with 3ms response time. The Scar 17, on the other hand, will have a choice between a 300Hz or 144Hz 17.3″ FHD IPS display with 3ms response time.
GPU-wise, the Scar 17 has more options with the Nvidia RTX 2060 & 2070 and the RTX 2070 & 2080 SUPER. On the flip side, the Scar 15 has the Nvidia RTX 2060 & 2070 and the RTX 2080 SUPER. Both will feature Keystone II tech and a robust chassis. Official pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
