The Pokemon Company, in partnership with Nintendo, has officially released its cloud-based migration service application called Pokemon HOME. For a more in-depth look at the features check out our article here.

Pokemon HOME is meant to migrate different Pokemon from various core series games in the Nintendo Switch and 3DS consoles into the app. This wasn’t the first time that the company provided this kind of service as it had the Pokemon Bank app in the 3DS.

The Pokemon imported here can be moved to the most recent games (Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield) and still carry the same stats and abilities that it has before. However, for Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee, and Pokémon Bank, they can only be imported to Pokemon Sword or Shield, but doing it vice versa is not possible.

Author’s Note: Pokemon Go compatibility is yet to come here.

The app has various features such as Mystery Gift which allows you to receive gifts, such as items that can be used to Pokemon Sword or Shield. There is also a trading system where you can use your mobile device to exchange Pokemon anytime and anywhere via four methods:

  • Wonder Box – It’s basically a surprise trade worldwide where you don’t need to use Pokemon HOME.
  • GTS – You can specify which Pokemon you want to trade, as well as, the Pokemon you want to receive.
  • Room Trade – This will create a room for trading Pokemon among people, however, you wouldn’t know what you’ll be getting until the transaction is complete. Note: You cannot create a room unless you have a Premium Plan, but you can join any room that isn’t yours.
  • Friend Trade – Allows you to trade with other users who you’ve become friends with inside the Pokemon HOME app.

Users can enhance their experience by subscribing to the Pokemon HOME Premium Plan that ranges from USD 2.99 (~PHP 151) for 30 days up to USD 15.99 (~PHP 808) for 1 year.

You can download the app here: Google Play Store, Apple Store.
