Say hello to the ROG Phone II!
A year after their release of the iconic ROG Phone, ASUS follows up with its successor — the ROG Phone II. Sporting top of the line specs and improved gamer-centric features.

Under the hood of the beastly ROG Phone II is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855+ processor, Adreno’s 640 GPU, 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, up to 512GB storage, and a monstrous 6,000mAh battery. The shining star of the device, however, is its 120hz, 1ms 6.59″ FHD+ 19.5:9 aspect ratio Corning Gorilla Glass 6 OLED display. This is a first for the mobile market, as last year we only got 90hz refresh rates from the Razer Phone and the, predecessor, ROG Phone.

Gone is the rear fingerprint scanner, replaced by a more advanced in-display one. Making a return are the new and improved AirTriggers, featuring lower 20ms haptic vibration registration. This means you no longer have to raise your finger to register a tap. There’s also support for sliding gestures now. We’re getting an improved 3D vapor cooling system dubbed the GameCool II. Then, of course, the accompanying upgraded cooling accessory the ROG AeroActive Cooler II.

Of course, we still have that iconic side-mounted specialized USB Type-C port, along with with a standard one on the bottom, and a 3.5mm audio port. The side-mounted port is still used for a variety of accessories. This includes the Twinview Dock II, Kunai Gamepad, and the rest of the original ROG Phone accessories. That Kunai Gamepad though is particularly interesting as it mimics the functionality of Nintendo’s JoyCons. It basically attaches to the sides of the device to create a handheld console.
