Ahead of E3 2019, Capcom has released the Story trailer for its upcoming expansion of Monster Hunter World. In which it reveals a lot of new features coming to the game.
In true Monster Hunter fashion, it looks like we will be getting a new village, called Seliana. To tie into the story, the new village will be made near the Hoarfrost Reach. It seems to use a new resource from Steamworks, which powers the village using fuel, as well as get extra rewards/items. It will include everything Astera has, as well as being the Master Rank Hub.
As for the new monsters, a variant of Legiana; called Shrieking Legiana is set to make an appearance. Having icicles forming out of its body to allow it to have stronger Ice-type attacks. This seems like the return of the deviant monsters from Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
The flagship monster Velkhana now has gameplay to show-off. Using a wide variety of attacks that seems to allow it to control the ice around the environment. It will be interesting to see what kind of challenge the new flagship will offer.
The fan-favorite Tigrex has now returned in Iceborne. This wyvern was the flagship of Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and finally made its way to the new World. Having Turf wars with both Radobaan and Odogaron, this monster proves why it is a fan-favorite. The familiar brutality of the Tigrex will surely make long time fans feel at home.
Finally, teased at the end of the trailer is one of the four flagship monsters from Monster Hunter Generations: the Glavenus. This monster is known for having a sword-like tail that it uses in most of its attack. Since it is one of the so-called Fated Four, fans are eager to have the other 3 come to Monster Hunter World.
