Get ready to wake up, get up, and get out there!
In day one of this year’s Persona Super Live concert, Atlus unveiled further details for their latest Persona 5 spinoff game, Persona 5: The Royal (P5R). The trailer shows a game similar to that of the original Persona 5 with new features and scenes.
Authors note: Since none of us on the team can fully understand Japanese, our recap on the trailer details is purely based on the footage shown, in comparison with the existing Persona 5 game. Once a translation comes out, we will update the recap accordingly.
It appears that in P5R, players will be able to dive deeper into the lives of the Phantom Thieves. In addition to that, there’s a new member joining the team: Kazumi Yoshizawa, a female high school student, presumably also studying at Shujin Academy. Finally, players will also be able to explore new areas of Tokyo, battle in enhanced palaces, and go on even more exciting adventures.
The persona series puts you in the shoes of gifted high schools students, who were bestowed with the power of having their own Persona. They use these Personas to fight shadows all while balancing living a normal, teenage life.
Persona 5: The Royal will be released on October 31, 2019, in Japan and 2020 in the west for the PS4. Be sure to tune in again to the Persona Super Live concert tomorrow as announcements for the highly-anticipated P5S are expected. Be sure to tune in on our website for further news coverage.
