Assassin’s Creed III Remastered out now

Relive the tales of the Assassin Connor!

The remastered fifth installment of Ubisoft’s hit franchise, Assassin’s Creed (AC), is finally out on the market. Assassin’s Creed III Remastered is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The Switch version will have to wait until May 21st.

The game is packaged alongside Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered. For a quick recap, Assassin’s Creed III was first released back in 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC. It is the direct sequel to Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. The game takes us back to the American Revolution, where Desmond Miles (the series protagonist), relives the memories of his ancestor, Connor.

The game features an open world map and is played in the third-person perspective. Just like any other AC game, combat is action-oriented and stealth is a key factor in eliminating targets, though you can always charge guns blazing if you want.

The remastered version comes with several improvements such as:

  • Resolution upscale to
    • 4K and HDR (PC, PS4 Pro, Xbox One X)
    • 1080p (PS4 and Xbox One)- Higher resolution textures
  • New character models
  • New lighting rendering system
  • Denser crowd, environments and visual effects
