With on-hands demo at PAX East!

We’ve known for a while now that the Baldur’s Gate series is heading to Nintendo’s Hybrid. What wasn’t included in prior announcements though was Baldur’s Gate: Enhance Edition, Beamdog’s revival of the classic title. All that’s changed, however, as Beamdog themselves casually announced the arrival of the game on the Switch.

Just a quick refresher, Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition includes the original title alongside its expansion, Tales of the Swordcoast. It also brought along new characters and a whole new adventure, The Black Pits, as well as several modern improvements.

The game was first released for Windows back in 2012, with follow-ups to iOS, Android, Linux, and OS X. Additionally, in 2016 an expansion entitled Siege of Dragonspear was released and served as the story bridge leading up to Baldur’s Gate II: Shadown of Amn.

Now then, during a blog update a few days back, Beamdog announced their planned activities for PAX East, happening on March 28-31 in Boston. This is where the company casually revealed the Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition hands-on event on the Switch and the PS4.

Essentially confirming the arrival of the game to the Hybrid. Other than that though, no other information were revealed. Official release date and pricing are yet to be announced too.
