Ala “Return of the Jedi”?
The news is not yet set in stone but by the looks of it, Disney is looking to bring back Lucasfilm Games (not to be confused with its successor, LucasArts), the once famous publisher and developer of Star Wars Gaming IPs (Intellectual Property). You know, before Disney bought Lucasfilm back in 2012.

The rumormill started turning when Disney posted several job listings for Lucasfilm Games on their website, focused on publishing positions. However, a tweet from Ashley Day, a Team 17 Senior Community Manager, also revealed that Disney is looking for some personnel on the development side of things.
So, this may point to the direction that Disney is looking to fully revive Lucasfilm Games on both publishing and development. What’s interesting to see is how Disney will handle the Star Wars game IPs if they do bring back Lucasfilm Games. Since EA is currently the ones with the license for development.
Will they take EA’s license away? or will they let EA continue but create their own? As we all know and honestly speaking, EA is currently doing a “not-so-good” job at creating and maintaining notable Star Wars games (look at the Stars Wars Battlefront 2 mess), which may also be the reason why Disney is taking matters to their own hands.
In any case, these are all merely speculation. Although, Disney might shed more light on this matter with the upcoming Star Wars Celebration, which is just around the corner.
